Bedroom Wall Art

One of my daily blog reads is A Beautiful Mess, by Elsie Larson. She’s making her dreams come true with her friends by her side. Her vintage shop is Red Velvet, which is perfectly styled and includes a little bakery. Last year she launched the Red Velvet clothing line and got married. She’s a very busy lady!

I love this post from her blog yesterday. She has created a wall mural using iPhone photographs. One of my bedroom walls is pretty plain, displaying a map of the Chesapeake Bay. I love it, but it’s looking stale. My goal is to recreate Elsie’s photo wall in my bedroom, above my long, mid-century style thrifted dresser.

I have several Hipstamatic photos (she uses Instagram), but I’m going to need more for this project. If I take a few good shots everyday, I’ll be well on my way to my new photo wall! Here is a Hipstamatic photo of a portion of my mostly vintage fabric collection.

Putting It Out There

I’m on the lookout for a very petite capiz shell chimes and/or pendant light. The big ones are gorgeous, but my space only allows for a small one. Ideally it would hang from a vintage bird cage stand that I already own. It must be under a foot in diameter. Maybe something like this.
